Police are appealing for information after a spate of high-value jewellery and watch thefts in south Birmingham.
The robberies have mainly taken place in daylight hours in and around Edgbaston, Harborne and Selly Oak.
Anyone with high-value jewelry or watches is advised to keep a note of identifying marks and watch serial numbers. Also, take photographs with information about its value and the purchase date. This can be noted securely in your own way or you can use immobilise.com
For securing valuables at home, speak to your insurer and invest in an approved safe installed to manufacturer’s instructions. Further information can be found at www.securedbydesign.com where you can also find information on how to protect your home.
You can also keep your jewellery and other valuables in a safety deposit box at a bank or building society but take advice from your insurance company on recognised trade bodies, such as The Safety Deposit Association or the National Pawnbrokers Association.
