Man arrested for trying to steal vehicle in Birmingham

Police have arrested a man on suspicion of trying to steal a vehicle following prompt work by Response officers in Birmingham.

Police rushed to Red Hill Road, South Yardley, after reports of someone trying to break into a vehicle at around 3.30am this morning (Wednesday).

As officers arrived a man ran off but following a short foot chase he was detained. He was arrested on suspicion of the attempted theft of a motor vehicle and remains in custody for questioning.
