Khadija Sulamain, lead chaplain for the multi-faith force at West Midlands Police (WMP), has been honoured as one of the Top 50 most influential Muslims in Europe. Sulamain won the prestigious Equality X accolade for her outstanding contributions to promoting inclusivity within the force and beyond.
Her work has focused on building relationships with community leaders and fostering trust among groups traditionally disengaged with the police. Additionally, Sulamain has been instrumental in improving welfare support for colleagues of all faiths and none, including the establishment of inclusive quiet rooms across WMP buildings.
Sulamain expressed her pride in the award, highlighting it as a significant achievement for both herself and WMP, emphasising the inclusive nature of the workplace. Other winners on the list included London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
