Sandwell Council has joined forces with arts organisation Walk the Plank to bring a mesmerising Fire Garden to the Sandwell Valley Victorian Garden on Friday, 8 November, and Saturday, 9 November. This family-friendly event will transform the Sandwell Valley Visitor Centre into a fiery wonderland of sculpture and light, showcasing breathtaking, hand-crafted fire installations by some of the UK’s finest artisans, including blacksmiths, engineers, and artists.
Visitors can look forward to an immersive experience featuring fire-breathing copper flowers, blazing sculpture trees, and the ever-turning *Flaming Daisy Chain*, with cogs igniting in a continuous cycle. Each 30-minute slot will offer attendees the opportunity to marvel at these captivating works of art, inspired by the natural world and brought to life by animated fire displays.
Councillor Suzanne Hartwell, Sandwell Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods and Community, shared her excitement: “This event is a first for Sandwell and promises to be a magical experience for all the family. The hand-crafted fire sculptures will create an exciting, engaging spectacle full of wonder.”
Visitors are encouraged to book early to secure their preferred time, with entry slots available from 5pm to 8.30pm each evening. In addition to the Fire Garden, attendees can enjoy the night market, sample delights from local food vendors, and explore offerings from community stallholders.
Don’t miss this spectacular, two-day celebration of art, community, and creativity in Sandwell Valley!
