Man Shot Dead and Another Injured in Birmingham Shooting
Police are continuing their investigation into a tragic shooting in Birmingham that left one man dead and another seriously injured on Friday night.
Officers were called to Rotton Park Road, near the City Road junction in Edgbaston, shortly before 11pm following reports of gunshots.
A man in his 30s was found injured at a bus stop and taken to hospital, where he remains in a serious condition. A second man, in his 20s, was discovered in a car and sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His family are being supported by specialist officers.
A man in his 30s was arrested but has since been released from the investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Laura Harrison, from the Homicide team, said: “This was a tragic incident, and we’re working at pace to understand exactly what happened. The shooting occurred near the busy City Road junction, and we urge anyone with information to come forward.”
