Hit-and-Run Tragedy: Police Launch Investigation After Fatal Collision in Birmingham

A man has tragically died following a hit-and-run collision in Stechford last night (9 February), prompting police to launch an urgent investigation.

Emergency services were called to Audley Road at around 9:10 PM after reports that a car had struck a pedestrian. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver failed to stop, and officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Team are actively working to locate them.

Detective Sergeant Rich Evans urged the driver to “do the right thing and hand themselves in.” Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area, and road closures remain in place on Audley Road, Flaxley Road, and Iron Lane for investigations.

Authorities are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area to come forward.
