A driver who couldn’t resist the urge to be cheeky has found themselves prosecuted for careless driving after a roadside incident took an unexpected turn.
The incident, highlighted by West Midlands Police on social media, occurred as officers were dealing with a separate matter at the roadside.
As the driver passed by, they sarcastically shouted “You can’t park there!” at the officers, attempting to be witty.
However, in a twist of instant karma, the motorist immediately ploughed into a parked car just metres ahead. The crash resulted in the driver being charged with careless driving.
Police shared the story with the hashtag #fail, accompanied by a facepalm emoji and crash icons – a light-hearted but pointed reminder of the consequences of not paying attention behind the wheel.
West Midlands Police reminded motorists: “Road safety is no joke. If you’re driving, your eyes should be on the road – not on your one-liners.”
