Police are continuing to appeal for information after a man was seriously injured following an assault in Birmingham city centre on Monday 5 October.
Officers received reports of men causing trouble in a convenience store in Upper Dean Street at around 10.10pm that night and moments later, a man was punched in the head. He sustained a serious injury and remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
Detectives investigating the case have now released an image of a man they wish to identify who may have information on the attack.
Three men and two women, aged between 26 and 39, who were arrested on suspicion of assault, have all being released on bail with conditions.

Detective Inspector Richard Marsh from the force CID team, said: “The motive of the attack remains unclear, but this appears to be an unprovoked attack on a lone victim. We’re continuing to work hard to find out what happened to the man and what happened in the moments before the assault.
“I am asking anyone who may have information on that night’s events and hasn’t already spoken to us, to come forward.
“If you recognise the man in this image, please contact us.”
