Police arrested six men after responding to reports of a large disorder in Aston Park yesterday.
Concerned members of the public called us at around 1 pm after a group of up to 10 men began fighting.
Weapons including a machete and cricket bats were being brandished. There were no reports of any injuries.
Our armed units who were patrolling in the area got to the scene quickly and arrested several men as they tried running away.
All six men – aged between 20 and 25 – were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, while a 20-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a machete.
A cricket bat was later found discarded in bushes.
The men were questioned and then released under investigation to allow us more time to conduct further enquiries and examine CCTV evidence.
