All Eyes on Ladywood: Polls Suggest Close Margin Between Labour’s Shabana Mahmood and Independent Akhmed Yakoob
According to exit polls, Labour is predicted to secure 410 seats in the 2024 general election. The final outcome of the elections should become clear by early Friday morning. All eyes are on the Birmingham Ladywood results.
The Ladywood constituency includes areas such as Alum Rock, Aston, Balsall Heath West, Bordesley Green, Highgate, the Jewellery Quarter, Ladywood, Nechells, and Soho. The population of the Ladywood constituency was 126,693 in the 2011 census.
There are six candidates in the Ladywood constituency: Zoe Challenor from the Green Party, Lee Drague from the Liberal Democrats, Shabana Mahmood from Labour, Shaz Muzammil from the Conservatives, Akhmed Yakoob (Independent), and Irene Yoong-Henery from Reform UK.
