Arrests made following raid at Birmingham jewellery shop

Officers investigating a ram raid at a jewellery shop in Birmingham last month have made several arrests today (6 April).

Significant damage was caused to the store on Ladypool Road on 3 March, fortunately no-one was injured.

Three vehicles believed to have been involved in the ram raid were recovered for forensic examination.

Early morning raids were carried out today in Alum Rock, Great Barr, Sheldon and Aston resulting in five arrests.

Four men, aged between 25 and 50, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and remain in police custody for questioning.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a police officer and has been released under investigation.
