Detectives have arrested four teens after shots were fired in a shop in Handsworth on Monday (20 April).

Police were called to reports of three people chasing another group into DFC Chicken in Rookery Road at around 6pm. Shots were fired and the trio fled. The other group – which consisted of up to six men – had also left before officers arrived and no-one has reported any injuries.

Four people, aged between 15 and 20-years-old, were arrested yesterday (21 April) afternoon in the Lozells area on Birmingham. All four were arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and remain in police custody.

Inspector Jim Church, from force CID, said: “I would still urge anyone who might have seen what happened or has any information about the incident to get in touch.

“Fortunately, no customers or staff inside the shop were hurt in what we believe was a targeted attack between two groups.”
