Detectives in Birmingham are continuing their investigation into a stabbing incident that took place early this morning. The incident occurred on Dudley Road, near its junction with Bellefield Road, shortly before 1:30 am.
A man was taken to hospital with a slash injury and remains in stable condition this evening. Initial reports suggested that the victim was with a baby in a pushchair, but police have confirmed that he was pushing a trolley of belongings at the time of the attack.
Following the incident, three men aged 34, 29, and 26, along with a 22-year-old woman, were arrested. The 34-year-old man is still in custody on suspicion of attempted murder. Meanwhile, the 26-year-old man and the 22-year-old woman have been released with no further action to be taken against them. The 29-year-old man has been charged with unrelated offences.
Police are also examining mobile phone footage of the incident that has been circulating on social media. They believe the attack to be an isolated incident and are not seeking anyone else in connection with the case.
