Birmingham Council leader John Cotton has revealed a new-look Cabinet to address the challenges faced by the UK’s second-largest city.
‘A New Deal for Birmingham,’ Says Labour
According to Labour Party Councillor Sharon Thompson, who will be the Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills, the new team includes:
- Councillor Karen McCarthy as the Cabinet Member for Finance
- Councillor Jayne Francis as the Cabinet Member for Housing and Homelessness
- Councillor Majid Mahmood as the Cabinet Member for Transport and Environment
- Councillor Rob Pocock as the Cabinet Member for Transformation, Governance, and HR
- Councillor Mariam Khan as the Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care
- Councillor Saima Suleman as the Cabinet Member for Digital, Culture, Heritage, and Tourism
- Councillor Nicky Brennan as the Cabinet Member for Social Justice, Community Safety, and Equalities
- Councillor Mick Brown as the Cabinet Member for Children, Young People, and Families
The Birmingham Labour Party stated:
