A suspect has been arrested following a knife-point carjacking of a camper van in Tipton. Officers swiftly responded to the incident and were able to locate the stolen vehicle shortly after the theft occurred.
With assistance from the National Police Air Service Midlands (NPAS), the camper van was tracked from the air, allowing ground units to box it in, preventing a potentially dangerous pursuit. However, the driver attempted to evade capture by ramming police vehicles before abandoning the vehicle and fleeing on foot.
After a brief foot chase and struggle, the suspect was apprehended and taken into custody. No serious injuries have been reported. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
