A man has sadly died after a car struck a tree in Coventry this morning (2 Oct).

Neil Keenan was a rear seat passenger in the car which hit the tree on Eastern Green Road at the junction of Alspath Lane just before 1pm. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neil’s wife paid tribute to her husband after receiving the dreadful news: “Neil Keenan 52, beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandad, foster carer, keen bowler and fisherman. Tragically killed as a rear seat passenger in a car accident.”

Our thoughts are with Neil’s family and friends at this tragic time. They have requested privacy while they grieve their loss.

Three other people in the car were taken to hospital. Another rear seat passenger sustained minor injuries and a front seat passenger suffered a broken arm. The driver also suffered a broken arm and leg.
