Police have launched an urgent appeal for information following a violent robbery at a home in Chelmsley Wood.
Two men forced entry into a property on Loyns Close shortly before 11pm on Saturday, 20 July. The intruders were initially disturbed and appeared to leave, but then returned to the address, where they violently assaulted the elderly resident.
Following the assault, the suspects re-entered the house and stole a handbag containing valuables before fleeing the scene.
Officers from the Neighbourhood Crime Team are now investigating the incident and are urging anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Mark Heard said:
“This was a vile attack and we are determined to find those responsible.
“Everyone has the right to feel safe in their own home and we are calling upon anyone who knows who might have been involved to come forward, do the right thing and tell us what you know.
“We especially want to hear from anyone who might have doorbell or dashcam footage from the surrounding area around the time the offence took place.”
