Four children have been arrested following an incident in Wednesbury where a funeral car was deliberately set on fire. The vehicle, parked on Upper High Street, was damaged when an unknown object, already ablaze, was thrown underneath it around 2pm yesterday (17 October).
Significant damage was caused to the vehicle as a result of the fire. Following swift enquiries, police arrested two boys, both aged 13, along with a 13-year-old girl and a 12-year-old girl, all on suspicion of arson.
The suspects remain in custody for further questioning. Police confirmed the charge does not include endangering life.
Investigations into the full circumstances of the incident are ongoing.
