27-year-old suspect detained for attempted murder after gunfire erupts outside FJ Lounge last month.

West Midlands Police have announced a further arrest in connection with a shooting in Aston last month that left two men hospitalized. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 23 March, when gunshots were fired during a disturbance outside FJ Lounge on Bickford Road.

A 27-year-old man from Erdington has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody for questioning. This follows last week’s charging of a 45-year-old man, who is set to appear at Birmingham Crown Court later this month.

Authorities have also secured a closure order for FJ Lounge under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act, barring entry to anyone except the owner.

Police are urging witnesses or anyone with footage of the incident to submit evidence via their online portal (WMP Evidence Submission) or contact them via Live Chat or 101, quoting reference Log 636 of 23 March.

Investigations remain ongoing as officers work to tackle violent crime in the area.
