An elderly woman has described her terror after confronting a burglar in her Coventry home.
The break-in occurred in the Earlsdon area just after 2pm on Monday, 14 October. The victim, a woman in her 80s, came face to face with the intruder before he fled with jewellery and a mobile phone.
She said about the ordeal, “I have never been so scared in all of my life.”
Fortunately, she was not physically harmed during the incident. Police have since provided support to the victim, who remains deeply shaken by the encounter.
West Midlands Police have conducted extensive house-to-house enquiries and reviewed CCTV footage. They are now appealing for help in identifying a man seen in the area at the time.
The suspect is described as being of slight build, between 5ft 6in and 5ft 8in tall, with shoulder-length brown hair.
Detectives are urging anyone who recognises the individual from the footage or has information about the burglary to come forward.
