A 49-year-old man from Kings Norton has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving following a collision in Birmingham that left a 13-year-old girl with critical injuries.
Mervyn Boreland is set to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Thursday, 20 March, for his first hearing. The incident occurred on Holly Lane, Erdington, just before 5:30 PM on 27 May 2023, when the young girl was struck by a car.
Emergency services rushed the victim to the hospital, where she was admitted in critical condition. She remains in recovery, with the extent of her injuries still being assessed.
