A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a car attack that left several people injured in Livery Street on Friday morning. The incident occurred near *The Tunnel* nightclub, and police were called to the scene around 3am.

According to a police statement, the vehicle was driven into a group of people after disorder broke out outside the nightclub. Six individuals are reported to have been injured, with five taken to hospital. Two of those injured remain in hospital, though their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. One of the hospitalised individuals has also been arrested on suspicion of affray.

The suspect was apprehended at a city property just before 9am on Saturday morning and is currently in custody for questioning.

Detective Chief Inspector Dave Sproson of Birmingham Police commented on the situation:

“We’re working hard to understand exactly what happened and why. At this stage, we believe this to have been an isolated and deliberate attack linked to an earlier incident inside the nightclub.”

The investigation remains ongoing, and police are appealing for anyone with information or mobile phone footage to come forward via their dedicated website.

Further updates are expected as the inquiry progresses.
