A 50-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead at a property in Swan Crescent, Oldbury, on Monday morning.
Police were called to the scene at approximately 8:20 AM on March 31st, where they discovered a 46-year-old woman with serious injuries. Despite emergency efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has since been identified as Paramjit Kaur (Soni), described by her grieving family as a “kind, hardworking, and dearly loved daughter, sister, and friend.”
In a heartfelt tribute, her family said: “We were deeply saddened by the heartbreaking news of Paramjit’s passing. She brought warmth to everyone around her. Her loss leaves us in profound sorrow, but her memory will forever live in our hearts.”
Harminder Mattu, aged 50, has been charged with murder and remanded in custody. He is set to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
West Midlands Police have assured the community that additional patrols will be conducted in the area to provide reassurance. Authorities are urging anyone with information or concerns to come forward.
