Police have charged a man in connection with stealing 60 vehicles across the region over the last two years.
Our specialist Vehicle Crime Taskforce has been carrying out inquiries around a series of thefts in areas including Birmingham, Walsall and West Bromwich between July 2020 and November 2022.
The team yesterday arrested and later charged Eddie McDonagh, of no fixed address, with theft of motor vehicles.
The 41-year-old was also charged with fraud and robbery, and he was remanded to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today (31 January).
Our Taskforce was set up in September and has already been involved in making scores of arrests and recovering stolen vehicles.
It has recently been expanded to boost our capabilities in targeting suspects and chop shops around the force area.
