A man found dead in his Birmingham home on Sunday (3 May) has been named as 48-year-old Amarjit Arora.

Mr Arora was found unresponsive at the address in James Turner Street in the early hours and pronounced dead at the scene.

A post mortem examination was carried out today (6 May) but was inconclusive and further forensic tests are required to establish the cause of death.

We arrested a 44-year-old woman, who is known to Mr Arora, on suspicion of murder.

She has now been bailed pending more enquiries and the results of the forensic post mortem examination.

Detective Inspector Stuart Mobberley, from the Homicide Unit, said:

“This is a tragic case in which a family man has been found dead in his own home.

“Initially Mr Arora’s death was not deemed suspicious and there are no clear signs of injury.

“However, a new line of enquiry emerged suggesting his death may not have been natural causes or an accident.

Police said:

We will do all we can to find out exactly what happened.
