A drug dealer who was found with 148 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin in his underwear has been jailed.
Kashan Ahmed was found guilty of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, possession with intent to supply heroin and possession of a bladed or pointed article.
25-year-old Ahmed was stopped by officers who were investigating a robbery in Lockside Place, Coventry, on 19 July, 2021.
When they searched him, they found a large knife tucked into his trousers.
After taking him to Coventry Police Station, they found 148 wraps of the drugs hidden in Ahmed’s underwear.
In his police interview, he said he had been out for a walk and was on his way to buy some trainers, claiming he had happened to find the drugs and knife while out.
While being arrested, Ahmed told officers “it’s not my blade” and said the large knife was from his friend’s kitchen.
He said he had intended to destroy them and had put them in his underwear as he did not want to carry them in his hands.
When officers asked why he did not just call the police if he had found the items, he said he did not know.
Officers also searched his home, where a small amount of cannabis, a grinder and some small dealer bags were recovered.
Ahmed was jailed for 18 months when he appeared at Warwickshire Justice Centre.
