Birmingham Police have launched an urgent appeal for information following a stabbing incident that left a 15-year-old boy in critical but stable condition. The attack occurred last night near Alum Rock Road, close to the junction with College Road, at approximately 8:45 PM.
Paramedics alerted the police after discovering the injured teenager, who was rushed to the hospital where he remains under medical care. Investigators believe the attack took place in the vicinity of Morris Park, which has been cordoned off as forensic teams and officers continue their enquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector Jim Mahon of Birmingham Police emphasized the severity of the incident, stating, “This was a really serious attack on a young boy, and officers from our Major Crime Unit are working tirelessly to identify those responsible. We are reviewing CCTV footage and conducting extensive enquiries to piece together what happened.”
To aid the investigation, police have deployed additional officers in the area to provide reassurance to the community and gather further evidence. DCI Mahon urged anyone with information to come forward, particularly those who may have witnessed the incident or captured footage on mobile phones, CCTV, doorbell cameras, or dashcams.
