A rapist who groomed and attacked two underage girls in Solihull has been jailed for nearly 30 years.
Wahid Bik was jailed at Birmingham Crown Court on 7 February after being found guilty of rape, two attempted rapes, assault by penetration and three counts of sexual assault.
The 43-year-old befriended anwed picked up the two teenagers in his car between December 2021 and January 2022, driving them around and giving them alcohol and cannabis.
It was on these journeys that Bik sexually assaulted the girls.
Along with providing them with the drugs and alcohol, Bik would send messages to one of the girls telling her she was beautiful and asking to meet up.
The girls came forward and showed police photos from inside Bik’s car as well as messages he had sent them, allowing officers to build a case against him.
When interviewed, he denied all responsibility and said he had done nothing wrong.
Despite this, Bik, of Wallsgrave Road, Solihull, was found guilty and sentenced to 28 years in prison.
DC Charlotte Ford, from our Public Protection Unit, said: “This was a series of appalling incidents in which Bik groomed vulnerable girls, earned their trust, and abused them.
“We take offences like these incredibly seriously and the hard work of the investigating officers meant a strong case could be presented against him in court.
“We urge anyone who has concerns over themselves, a relative or friend being groomed to report it to us as soon as possible.”
