Seven people charged following Birmingham attack

Police have charged seven people after three men were attacked on Rogers Road in Birmingham last month.

The occupants of three vehicles attacked the men as they sat in another vehicle around midnight on 6 June. Two, aged 19 and 21, received stab and slash wounds and managed to escape.

A third 20 year-old was kidnapped and assaulted with weapons causing serious injuries. He was later released and made his way to hospital for treatment. Fortunately all three are expected to make a full recovery.

Meanwhile a house on Chipperfield Road was broken into, by men with weapons and items stolen.

An investigation resulted in the arrest and charge of seven people over the last ten days.

Ghazanfar Muhammed, aged 19 of Towcester Croft, Bromford, Haashim Hussain, aged 19 of Peplow Road, Lea Hall, Umar Khan aged 20 of Station Street, Handsworth, and a 17-year-old, who can’t be named due to his age, have been charged with kidnap, three counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and aggravated burglary.

They appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court on the 20 June where they were remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on the 18 July.

Adil Ahmed, aged 19 of Ludlow Road, Birmingham, was charged on 23 June with the same offences as well as false imprisonment. He appeared before magistrates on 24 June and remanded in custody to also appear at Birmingham Crown Court on the 18 July.

Lisa Sullivan, aged 38 of Crompton Road, Lozells, has been charged with assisting offenders and was bailed to appear at Crown Court on 18 July.

Safyaan Baga, aged 20 of no fixed address, was charged on 28 June with kidnap, three counts of grievous bodily harm and aggravated burglary. He appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court on 29 June where he was remanded for Crown Court on 18 July.
