A brother and sister have been jailed for their part in a Birmingham stabbing after our officers found the knifeman hiding in his sister’s wardrobe.

Lorenzo Foley lashed out at a man in Balsall Heath on 21 November last year with a knuckleduster knife in an attempted robbery as he demanded his phone and cash.

Our detectives identified 23-year-old Foley as the offender and tracked him down at the home of his sister Stella Foley in Willows Road.

The 42-year-old claimed she’d not seen her brother but suspicious officers searched the property and found him hiding in a wardrobe; they also seized a blood-stained white top.

At Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday (21 April) Stella Foley of Willows Road, Balsall Heath was jailed for 10 months for perverting the course of justice and her brother Lorenzo Foley of Irving Street was jailed for seven years and six months after being found guilty of wounding, attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.
