Solihull Police have reported a week of significant achievements, successfully seizing stolen vehicles and approximately 100 cannabis plants across various neighbourhoods.
Officers from the Shirley Neighbourhood Team executed a warrant in the town, resulting in the confiscation of around 100 cannabis plants and the arrest of two individuals. Authorities are currently focused on safely disposing of the seized plants and ensuring the safety of the affected premises.
In addition to drug-related operations, multiple neighbourhood teams made substantial progress in tackling vehicle theft. The Lyndon, Elmdon, Olton, and Sillhill teams successfully recovered a stolen car during routine patrols. Meanwhile, the Smith’s Wood team apprehended a vehicle that had been circulating the town without valid tax.
The St Alphege team also played a crucial role by recovering a suspected stolen car abandoned in a residential area. Further investigations revealed that the vehicle was originally stolen from the Bristol area, prompting the team to remove it from the streets promptly.
Beyond vehicle and drug enforcement, the Shirley team retrieved a pair of suspected stolen pushbikes in Borley Close. Additionally, the St Alphege team attended a Lunar New Year event at Solihull Methodist Church, demonstrating their commitment to community engagement.
A spokesperson for Solihull Police stated, “We continue to act on information received from the public and local intelligence, which guides our patrol and operational strategies. Our dedicated neighbourhood teams are focused on maintaining the safety and security of our community.”
This week’s operations underscore the effectiveness of Solihull Police’s neighbourhood policing approach, highlighting their dedication to reducing crime and enhancing public safety through targeted actions and community collaboration.
