Three Individuals Charged After Teenager Attacked at Smethwick Shopping Centre

Three individuals have been formally charged following an attack on a 17-year-old teenager at the West Cross Shopping Centre on Oldbury Road last Thursday evening, January 2.

The incident, described by local police as armed disorder, resulted in the teenager sustaining injuries to his head and body. Fortunately, his injuries were not life-threatening, and he was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Authorities have charged two 17-year-old males, whose identities remain undisclosed due to their age, and a 22-year-old man with wounding offenses. In addition to the wounding charges, both teenagers face allegations of possession of an offensive weapon. Mohammed Yousaf from Oldbury and the other teenager appeared at Walsall Magistrates Court on January 7 and have been remanded to return to the same court today.

The investigation remains active, with three additional men aged 18, 20, and 44 arrested today on suspicion of wounding. These individuals are currently in custody pending further questioning. Previously, two other suspects aged 17 and 19 were arrested in connection with the incident but have since been released on bail under certain conditions.
