UK’s Biggest Eid Prayer Gathering in Small Heath Park and Edgbaston Cancelled Due to Rain Forecast
The Muslim community in the UK, like their counterparts all over the world, is celebrating Eid after the end of the holy month of Ramadan. However, the much-anticipated Eid prayer gathering in Small Heath Park and Edgbaston, which is known to be the biggest in the UK, has been cancelled due to the forecast of heavy rain.
The Green Lane Mosque, which organizes the prayer gathering, announced the cancellation on its social media channels. According to the mosque’s message, there is a 90% chance of rain between 7am-12pm, which has forced them to make the difficult decision of cancelling the event.
The cancellation of the Eid prayer gathering at Small Heath Park and Edgbaston is a disappointment for many Muslims who were looking forward to celebrating Eid with their community. However, the Green Lane Mosque has announced that they will hold four jammats at the mosque at 630am, 730am, 830am and 930am for those who had planned to attend the cancelled gathering.
