A 47-year-old woman has been arrested following a serious incident in Kings Norton on Saturday afternoon, in which two pedestrians were struck by a car.
West Midlands Police were called to a pub on Wharf Road just before 4pm after receiving reports of a vehicle being driven dangerously.
According to the police, members of the public had tried to intervene, believing the woman behind the wheel to be drink driving. However, she fled the scene in her car, striking two pedestrians as she drove off. Fortunately, neither victim sustained serious injuries.
The driver was later located and arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, drink driving, driving without insurance, and criminal damage.
She remains in police custody for questioning as investigations continue.
