A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after police seized firearms, drugs, and ammunition in Birmingham. Officers from West Midlands Police, acting on intelligence, raided a property in Bordesley Green linked to Zidane Amin in April last year.

The search led to the recovery of two firearms, ammunition, and Class A drugs intended for distribution. Amin admitted to possessing the weapons and drugs with intent to supply and was sentenced last Thursday (3 October) at Birmingham Crown Court.

Detective Inspector Jon Green of the Major Crime Unit described Amin’s arrest as part of a broader effort to combat gang violence in the city. He said: “This result is a testament to the hard work of our officers. By removing these dangerous weapons from the streets, we’ve helped to make our communities safer.”

The conviction is part of the ongoing Operation Target, a forcewide initiative aimed at tackling serious organised crime in the West Midlands, including gun violence, drugs, and money laundering.
