Following Birmingham’s move into Tier 4 and latest Government advice that weddings can go ahead, permitted attendance has been reduced from 15 to 6 (not including staff) effective from today (31 Dec)

This means weddings and civil partnerships can take place in exceptional circumstances, with attendance now restricted to the couple getting married, two witnesses and no more than two other guests.

We are contacting couples who are affected by these new restrictions.

For funerals, the number of people permitted to attend funerals remains unchanged, so up to 30 people can attend.

However, as a result of the latest Government advice, the permitted attendance at wakes and other linked events has also been reduced from 15 to 6 people, effective from 31 December 2020.
