The UK is bracing for a frosty evening as temperatures drop to a minimum of -2°C,  according to the Met Office. A chilly night will see widespread frost developing by dawn, with most areas enjoying largely clear skies. However, isolated showers could edge into the northwest during the early hours of Wednesday.

Wednesday promises a cold yet crisp start, with plenty of sunshine expected throughout the day. A brisk northerly breeze will make conditions feel particularly chilly, though winds are forecast to ease into the evening. Temperatures will peak at a maximum of 6°C.

Looking ahead, the chill persists into Thursday with continued overnight frosts and the chance of isolated showers. Friday appears largely dry, offering a brief respite before a change in the weather on Saturday, as milder but wetter and windier conditions are set to arrive.

Residents are advised to wrap up warm and take precautions against icy conditions during the frosty mornings.
