PC Simina Muntean, aged 29, was yesterday (Friday 12 June), given the final written warning, following a misconduct hearing.
In June 2018, Muntean, who is a response officer at West Bromwich, made inappropriate comments while on an external police course, some of these comments were made in a pub in front of members of the public and again in the public area of a hotel.
The hearing was chaired by legally qualified Callum Cowx who concluded that her actions amounted to gross misconduct and she was given a final written warning.
Chief Superintendent Chris Todd, from our professional standards department, said: “Muntean’s behaviour was completely unacceptable and was a clear breach of our standards of professional behaviour.
“Behaving like this in front of members of the public is wholly unacceptable.
“Treating everyone, including colleagues, with fairness and dignity is expected at all times and she abused that on more than one occasion.
“Any officer or staff member that fails to uphold our force values and falls below the high standards we expect will be dealt with accordingly.”
