A former agency worker at a Birmingham mosque has been charged with rape and other sexual offences against boys.

Said Daauud, 21, from Birmingham, is accused of rape, two sexual assaults, assault by touching on a boy under 13, causing the sexual exploitation of a child and two charges of causing or inciting a boy under 13 to engage in sexual activity.

The alleged offenses have happened over the past few months, and involve four boys.

The charges of assault by touching are alleged to have taken place at the mosque, which cannot be named for legal reasons.

The other offenses are alleged to have happened elsewhere.

Daauud, who no longer works at the mosque, was arrested in the early hours of Monday morning following information provided by the mosque, which is helping with our inquiries, and was charged last night.

He appeared before Walsall magistrates today where he was remanded in custody to appear before Birmingham Crown Court on 29 June.
