Appeal after 60-year-old man seriously injured in Northfield collision

Police are asking for your help after a pedestrian suffered multiple injuries when he was hit by a car in Northfield, Birmingham on Wednesday evening (9 December).

It is understood the 60-year-old man was stuck at around 6pm as he crossed Bristol Road opposite the Shell garage.

He suffered multiple fractures to his legs and face and is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

The 29-year-old driver of a Ford Focus was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving.

He has been questioned by officers and released on bail, as our investigations into the collision continue.

Detective Sergeant Richard Forrester, of Force CID, said: “This collision has left a man very seriously injured and we’re trying to establish exactly what happened.

“Bristol Road is busy at that time of the evening and we’d ask anyone who saw the incident or has any dash cam footage to get in touch with us.”
