Appeal after man dies in West Bromwich collision

Police are appealing for information following a fatal collision in West Bromwich last night (16 July).

Officers were called to Newtown Road shortly before 9.30pm following reports a pedestrian was struck by a car near to the junction of Wigmore Lane.

The man, aged 27, suffered serious injuries and sadly died at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the grey Audi A7 stopped at the scene and is assisting officers in their investigation.

DC Jamie Simon from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are currently reviewing CCTV and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of this collision which sadly resulted in a man losing his life.
