Police are appealing for information following a serious aggravated burglary in Edgbaston on Wednesday (29 April).

Officers were called to a house on Vincent Drive just before 10.30pm, where

a group of five entered a house armed with knives and made threats to the homeowners before asking for money and gold.

A woman was also threatened, before the men made off with a gold bracelet and an iPhone 6.

One of the offenders assaulted a man by dragging him from his bedroom and all the way down a flight of stairs. He was then kicked by the other men and unbelievably, had bleach poured all over him.

Thankfully he is ok and does not have serious injuries.

PC Amit Talafair from our force CID team, said: “We are asking anyone who may have any information on Wednesday’s shocking burglary to get in contact with us. “I would encourage all local homeowners to check their CCTV in case they have managed to pick up anything and if anyone saw any suspicious behaviour even in the days leading up to the burglary, please speak to us.

“One of the men is described as being around 5ft tall and was wearing a black hoody, black gloves and a blue bandana across his face. “Another of the men was around 6ft tall and of a stocky build and was also wearing a dark hoody and black gloves. “We believe some neighbours or passers-by of an east Asian descent heard screaming from the victims and came outside the house and saw the offenders leaving – if this was you, please call us.”
