Police believe there are still at least two potentially significant witnesses who were in the park at the time that officers have not yet traced.

Officers returned to a Birmingham park today a week after a man was fatally stabbed there as police continue  search for witnesses.

WMP have already charged three teenagers with the murder of 29-year-old Sohail Ali who was attacked in Summerfield Park, Winson Green, at around 2.30pm last Friday.

The 17-year-olds – two boys and a girl – appeared in court yesterday and were remanded in custody until their next appearance at Birmingham Crown Court on Monday (14 Dec).

However, Police believe there are still at least two potentially significant witnesses who were in the park at the time that officers have not yet traced.

Enquiries suggest a man or teenager was riding a mountain bike – possibly a bright coloured one – near the Dudley Road entrance.

And police also believe another black man walking through the entrance just after the stabbing who was carrying shopping bags.

Detective Inspector Laura Harrison from our Homicide Unit, said: “We really need to speak to these two people. They may have unknowingly seen something significant so I would urge them to get in touch.

“And if anyone else was in or near Summerfield Park last Friday afternoon around 2.30pm and has yet to contact us then please drop us a line.
