Breaking: Air India Flight to London Crashes Near Ahmedabad Airport, Over 240 Onboard

A London-bound Air India flight carrying 242 passengers tragically crashed moments after take-off from Ahmedabad, in western India. The aircraft went down in a densely populated area, hitting accommodation used by medical staff. Authorities have confirmed that at least 204 bodies have been recovered, although it remains unclear how many of the victims were on board the plane and how many were on the ground.

Air India reported that the passengers included 169 Indian nationals, 53 Britons, seven Portuguese citizens, and one Canadian.

Heart-wrenching accounts are emerging from the crash site, including one woman who described how her son survived by leaping from a second-floor window just before the building was engulfed in flames.

Ahmedabad – An Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner en route to London Gatwick crashed shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Thursday afternoon.

The aircraft went down in the Meghani area of the city, sparking a massive fireball and thick black smoke visible for miles. Emergency services rushed to the scene as rescue operations got underway.

Initial reports confirm that more than 240 passengers and crew were onboard at the time of the crash.
