One of Police officers has helped provide protective kit for dedicated staff at a Birmingham care home – thanks to his colleagues’ love of a good snack.

PC Jock Williamson decided to use funds raised at the tuck shop he runs at our Summerfield police station to buy masks for staff at Albion Care Home in Winson Green.

But the neighbourhood officer’s kind deed didn’t stop there. When bosses at the kit supplier BannerUK heard what he was doing, manager Eric Mountain offered to donate the masks for free. And that meant the tuck shop money could be spent on bolstering supplies at the care home even further – with liquid soap and gloves being bought too.

Staff and care chiefs at the home were delighted when Jock and his colleague PCSO Sophie Stevens popped in last weekend and handed over the Winson Green Neighbourhood Team’s special delivery.
