Police have recovered drugs, an axe and a firearm after carrying out a series of raids to break up a suspected County Lines supply chain.
Four warrants were executed today (8 Dec) on the back of intelligence surrounding an illegal network being run from the West Midlands.
WMP have so far seized drugs, a knife, a firearm and also ammunition following raids on addresses across Acocks Green, Erdington and Oldbury.
A 33-year-old man and 41-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply drugs; while a man aged 35 has been detained over supplying drugs and possession of a firearm.
A 33-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of having a firearm. They all remain in police custody for questioning.
The warrants were carried out through our County Lines Taskforce alongside the Operational Support Unit (OSU) and local police teams and searches of the addresses are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Dan Rooks, from the Taskforce, said: “These warrants are a result of information we’ve received around a County Lines ring which is suspected of using children and young teens to peddle drugs.
“There is ongoing investigations around the network and this action is part of our efforts to break it up and remove drugs from our communities.
“We not only recovered drugs but some potentially dangerous weapons. We’re determined to bring down supply chains and will act on information we receive, so it’s important people let us know of illegal operations in their area.”
Two young children were safeguarded from one of the addresses – although it’s not believed they are linked to any illegal activities.
