A grieving family, whose son was fatally stabbed, today made an emotional appeal for a man wanted over the murder to hand himself in.

Panashe Bako, aged 20, was killed at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Holliday Street, Birmingham on 22 July at around 7:20pm.

His family, desperate to help find a man detectives want to question over his murder, have bravely made a direct appeal to Ceasar Bello, or anyone who may be harbouring him to come forward.

In an emotional plea the family described Panashe ‘as a lovely boy who always went the extra mile to help people’. They described their shock and urged Bello that ‘it’s the right time to hand himself over.’

One man has been charged with Panashe’s murder and has been remanded in custody.

Police are hunting for Ceasar Bello, also known as Peace, who officers need to question about Panashe’s death, and despite extensive enquiries, several appeals, including an active Crimestoppers reward, Police have not been able to find him yet.

It’s thought Bello may be in London and Police have been working closely with colleagues from the Metropolitan Police.

Detective Inspector Jim Colclough, from our homicide team, said: “ I understand that you may be scared to come forward and provide this information but it can be done anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers if you’d prefer. They are offering a reward of up to £5,000 for information they exclusively receive that leads to the arrest of Bello.

“The Bako family have been extremely courageous today, I thank them for this and reiterate their plea for anyone with information to get in touch.”
