Fresh Appeal After Young Man Dies in Stratford Road Crash

Birmingham – Police have launched a fresh appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage following a fatal collision on Stratford Road near the junction with Ladypool Road late on Friday night (1 August).

The incident, which occurred around 11:50pm, involved a black Audi, a blue Vauxhall Meriva, and a parked car. A 22-year-old man was rushed to hospital but tragically died from his injuries. Three other individuals remain in hospital receiving treatment.

West Midlands Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is leading the inquiry to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.

Officers have confirmed that members of the public helped those inside the Meriva shortly after the collision and are urging those individuals to come forward.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Our thoughts and support are with the family and friends of the young man who sadly lost his life. We are doing all we can to understand what led to this tragedy. If you saw what happened, or have dashcam footage from the area around that time, please get in touch.”
