Officers in Solihull have dismantled a cannabis factory and taken action against speeding drivers in a successful week of enforcement across the borough.
The Chelmsley Wood Neighbourhood Team executed a warrant at a property in Norwich Croft, where they discovered a large-scale cannabis operation. While no plants were actively growing, a significant quantity had been harvested, dried, and prepared for distribution. Officers also uncovered a dangerous electricity bypass used to power the operation, posing a severe fire risk to neighbouring homes.
A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and abstracting electricity. He has been released on bail as investigations continue.
Elsewhere, officers teamed up with WMP Cadets for a weapon sweep and patrol in Lanchester Park to enhance public safety.
In a separate operation, the St Alphege team conducted speed enforcement checks on Sharman’s Cross Road, stopping three vehicles for exceeding the 20mph limit. One car was seized for being untaxed and uninsured.
Meanwhile, the Shirley Neighbourhood Team increased high-visibility patrols in Joseph Crescent following community concerns about anti-social behaviour.
Solihull Police continue to urge residents to report suspicious activity via 101 or Live Chat to help shape future enforcement operations.
