Police continue asking the public for help in some of our longest-running missing person cases.

Today, Police are appealing for anyone who might have information as to the whereabouts of Douglas Mortimer.

Douglas was reported missing by his family in December 1981.

The then 44-year-old, from Birmingham, would be 87 years old now, and officers are hoping that by issuing this appeal, it may lead to someone remembering anything about his disappearance.

The family of Douglas is asking anyone who may have information about his disappearance to come forward.

Douglas was approximately 5ft 8ins tall, had a medium build, short grey hair and blue eyes. He worked on the Waterboard and in the Ladywood Social Club.

He went missing from his address on 3 December, 1981, and was last seen in Ladywood.

He was supposed to be meeting friends at Ladywood Social Club on the evening of 3 December, but sadly never turned up.

Sadly, no trace of Douglas has ever been found, but we are hoping our renewed appeal will help jog people’s memories who lived in the area at the time.
